Graduates of the master of science in education (M.S.Ed.) degree program work as speech-language pathologists in various settings, including hospitals, schools, clinics, and long-term-care facilities or open private practices.
They work to prevent, diagnose, evaluate, and treat communication disorders in people of all ages—from infants to older adults. This may involve assisting clients with articulation and phonological disorders; language impairments; aphasia; hearing, voice, fluency disorders; and traumatic brain injury.
Buffalo State graduates are also qualified to teach students who have speech and hearing impairments.
