Children who have difficulty with speech, language, or hearing (auditory processing) often have difficulty learning to read, write, and spell. This program is designed to address underlying language, literacy, and processing skills necessary for academic and social success.
The following areas may be addressed, dependent upon individual needs: auditory processing, phonological awareness, oral discourse, receptive and expressive language (vocabulary and grammar), word finding, reading, writing, and spelling. This program promotes the development of skills, compensatory strategies, and self-advocacy.
We are unable to honor requests for specific session times. Your child will be assigned to his or her session by the Program Coordinator according to age, ability and availability of an appropriate group. Thank you for your understanding.
While full attendance is encouraged, children should not attend if exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19. Daily wellness checks will be conducted. Social distancing will be employed.
In-person programming is planned; however, mode and intensity of services may be changed at any time, in accordance with CDC, Dept. of Health & SUNY guidelines.
To determine eligibility and appropriate grouping, a comprehensive speech-language evaluation will be conducted. Please call to schedule. If COVID restrictions preclude a full evaluation, recent speech-language evaluation and therapy reports or IEPs may be accepted in some cases.
It is preferred that this clinic has an evaluation on file dated 09/01/20 or later.
The total cost for the program is $430:
